Can you believe this year is over? Wow! The older I get the faster time is flying! I wonder why it works that way? I have had a great year, but it has also had many hills and valleys. I find myself getting stuck on some of the low points and forgetting that there are just as many if not more high points! I tend to get focused on the pains and disappointments of the valleys and realize that they have become distractions from so many blessings and opportunities in my life. I have taken this week between Christmas and New Years off. I do it every year to rest, reflect and reset. Today I have spent the day alone at home in my pjs. Thinking. I have spent a lot of time reflecting. Oh and eating and watching Netflix. I very much need to make this the last day of eating junk and being sedentary lol
So, I spent the day reflecting so that I can celebrate the good things from 2018 and what I am looking forward to in 2019!
In 2018
-My son became a United States Marine and graduated in February of 2018. My kids and my mom got to travel to San Diego and watch him graduate. It was a wonderful, proud moment to experience.
-My business celebrated 10 years and photographed a record number of seniors!
-I went on a mission trip to Los Angeles with my church and it was an amazing opportunity. This trip was my 5th mission trip.
-I got a new puppy! Her name is Pixel and she is so perfect for our family! She brings lots of joy and fun to our house!
-I attended youth camp for the first time with my daughter Caylan. God did some amazing things and performed some great miracles in our lives.
-My son Cannon was blessed to be able to go back to school and he worked hard and paid last semester in full!
-I went to the beach with my kids for a few days and then back with my mom and sister for my birthday! It was so fun and a wonderful memory both times!
These are just a few of the things to celebrate for 2018! I am so much looking forward to 2019! Already my son and his girlfriend are talking about getting engaged! My sister is taking me to NYC for my Christmas present! WOW!!!! I am so excited for that! So honored that she wants to take me and I am looking forward to some great memories! I am anticipating new big and amazing things for my business and my life this year!
Let's all make this a year to remember! Let's make the choice to celebrate life and look passed the distractions! Happy New Year :)
Love-
Shawn
